About the Rankings

The Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers recognises the UK's leading employers - from a wide range of industries & business sectors - that do the most to provide successful apprenticeships for their employees.

The rankings are entirely data-driven, with employers ranked according to the number of new apprenticeships provided over the past year, the diversity of these new apprentices, and the number of apprentices who successfully complete their apprenticeships.

After launching the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in 2020 and producing the annual rankings in partnership with the Department for Education for the past four years, High Fliers Research is delighted to be partnering with The Sunday Times in 2025 - to bring the rankings to the widest-possible audience of employers, school & college leavers, careers advisers and parents.

With more than 15 million readers each month, The Sunday Times - in print and online - will introduce the next generation of apprentices to the UK's top apprenticeship employers and help inspire more organisations to invest in high-quality apprenticeships.

New for 2025

  • For the first time, The Sunday Times Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers will celebrate employers throughout the UK – including apprenticeship programmes in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
  • Employers with 100 employees or more and a minimum of 10 apprentices are eligible to enter for the rankings.
  • The new rankings will be featured in The Sunday Times in the summer.
  • Each apprenticeship employer entering will be ranked within their own industry or employment sector - such as '2nd in banking & finance', '5th in engineering & industrial', '7th in retailing' or '10th in construction'.
  • Every employer will receive feedback on their entry - benchmarking their new apprenticeship starts, diversity and successful completions with other entrants.
  • All participating employers will be invited to an exclusive programme of apprenticeship workshops later in the year.
  • The entry fee for the 2025 rankings is £395+VAT.

Entries are now open and the entry deadline is 5pm on Monday 31st March.
